Our Services
Tri-County Hearing is “hear” for all your ear-related needs. We offer a full range of hearing care services in DeLand, Florida, just on the edge of Ocala National Forest, and right between Orlando and Daytona Beach. Some of our hearing services include:

Hearing Test
Online hearing tests may be able to give you a ball-park estimate of your hearing ability, but a professionally-administered comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluation is the only way to get a truly accurate, objective measure of your hearing ability. The Better Hearing Institute, a non-profit, recommends getting a hearing test once every decade until age 50, and once every three years thereafter. Those at special risk for hearing loss should be tested even more frequently. Regular hearing tests allow you to keep track of your hearing health over time. You’ll be able to catch hearing loss very early before it poses problems, and make any necessary changes in your hearing protection and/or lifestyle to prevent additional hearing loss. If hearing aids are recommended, you’ll find out early enough to prevent the complications that untreated hearing loss can bring.
We use state-of-the-art testing equipment, including video otoscopy—so you’ll be able to view the inside of your ear canal—and computerized hearing aid analysis using a Real Ear Measurement (REM) system.
Earwax Removal
Earwax is a normal and important part of healthy hearing. Earwax traps debris, moisturizes the skin in the ear canal, and prevents bugs from entering the inner ear. Under normal circumstances, earwax is automatically evacuated from the ear canal by the act of moving our jaws—by chewing or talking. Sometimes, for various reasons, earwax can become impacted or the ear may produce too much, which can interfere with hearing.
At Tri-County Hearing, we can safely and painlessly remove excessive or impacted earwax via state-of-the-art methods.
TeleCare / Telehealth
Many hearing aid manufacturers’ smartphone apps now include functionality to conduct telehealth video conferences right through your smartphone. These apps allow us to administer rudimentary hearing tests and even modify your hearing aids’ programming directly through the app! We can now address problems with your hearing aids’ programming from anywhere with a good WiFi connection!
Hearing Aid Cleaning
Moisture and debris can wear hearing aids down over time. In fact, about 60% of repairs made out-of-warranty are moisture-related. A periodic, thorough professional cleaning can be accomplished in less than a day, and leave your hearing aids as clean and dry as new! That not only helps them last longer but work better. It can even improve battery life!
Loaner Hearing Instruments
Hearing aids are sensitive instruments that spend most of their time in the relatively inhospitable environments of our ears. While they are generally robust and durable, most hearing aids will require a repair at some point in their lifespan. Sometimes this can require that they be sent back to the manufacturer, which can leave you with unaided ears for sometimes up to ten days or more. We are happy to offer loaner hearing instruments for the times when your hearing aids require repair.
Custom Earmolds
Whether for hearing aids or custom hearing protection, earmolds that perfectly fit your ear canals are a comfortable and reliable way to interface with your hearing instruments. The process of taking an impression of your ear canal is completely painless and only takes about five minutes. Your ear impressions can be used to manufacture the highest quality hearing protection for the activities that are important to you, whether it be music, swimming, hunting, or on the job. We can also provide custom in-ear monitors for musicians and audio professionals.

Rehabilitation Services and Counseling for Hearing Loss and Tinnitus
When hearing loss goes untreated for a long time, it can take some effort to become reacquainted with the world of sound, once you start to wear hearing aids or cochlear implants. Rehabilitation services aim to help you learn to listen again, using a combination of in-person sessions and online courses.
Those with bothersome tinnitus can also take advantage of counseling to learn to live more comfortably with tinnitus.
Educational Seminars
We can provide education on hearing loss treatment, tinnitus management, and hearing protection for your group, organization, or support group.
